Salara is an internal-facing AI powered sales training platform.
The unique methodology behind the software is based on solid
research and is backed by experts in the fields of business and
psychology.
Building rapport is a learned skill for most people. Salara teaches
sales associates how to build rapport with their individual clients in
a natural and easy way. The framework is programmed to identify the
wonderful yet complex differences among people. Step by step, Salara
guides users on how to respond to people at the moment they need it
the most.
Client privacy is important. Content, features and client names has
been altered and/or excluded to protect confidentiality.
My role as the UX designer on this project was to help design for
the user's experience and create the UI.
In order to meet the business goal, boosting profits through better
seller performance, we had to understand the hardest parts of a sales
associate's job. We had to discover their pain points. We created
Journey maps to better empathize with our users and reveal potential
opportunities.
Salara not only contained content, it also housed data that was
collected by the AI functionality.
Salara had a lot of content built in. First of all, there was the
methodology behind it. The methodology included concrete tactics on
building rapport. It also outlined a large number of personality
styles. The role of the AI was to identify the styles of the clients
and sales associates and make appropriate recommendations based on the
methodology.
We determined that a dashboard layout was the best option. Content was
then grouped by user task. Each task was a separate page on the
dashboard. I drew wireframe containers for the content and we iterated
on them.
While the wireframes were coming together, I did a visual comparative
analysis of similar dashboard applications and reviewed it with the
team to get feedback. Then, taking a systems based approach, I created
the color palette, typographical styles, icons and illustrations. The
components were next. After that, I created the page layouts and went
though some more iterations. The final step was the prototype.
In conclusion, Salara was the first AI driven software I had ever
worked on. I enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how to integrate
the insights from the AI into the UI in a manner that would be
meaningful to the user. I also learned that AI does not have to be
invasive and can be beneficial to people when used ethically. This
project was very fascinating and I feel grateful to have been a part
of it.
